I am sitting at Henderson Library going on my 8th hour here. And the more I think about it the more I cannot wait to NEVER have to set foot in this place again. Yes, we had some good times together, but mostly my memories consist of long nights running on coffee and energy drinks and feeling like I was never going to past the test that I was studying for or get the work done that needed to be done.

So Zach Henderson, come July 2010, I will bid you a very happy adieu and hope that I will never see you again : )

Just got done reading some recent tweets and saw Professor Andrew’s comment about a blog post topic, “Should students be allowed to fire members of their research groups?”. For some this may be a controversial topic, but for me I see it being very black and white. You either do the work that your group asks of you or you don’t. And if a group member is not pulling their slack their should definetly be the option of firing them.

Although it may seem easy to fire someone , I feel that their should be stipulations to this “firing” process. There should be solid proof that this group member was either not doing their work, not showing up for group meetings, or causing problems within the group. The instructor of the class should also have a say in whether or not this member should be fired or not.

We got our groups for my research class on Tuesday and I am proud to say that I think our group is going to be one of the strongest in the class. Although we only have three members (other groups have four), the members of our group are hard working and seem to want to do well in this course. What more could I ask for?? I had two AWFUL experiences last semester with group projects so I was very hesitant going into this project. Yet it seems that this time around my group project experience is going to give me a whole new outlook on working in teams!

So I JUST finished my resume…Man what a task! I never figured that sorting out the past 4 years of my life would be so difficult. I mean don’t get me wrong, it excites me that I am preparing a document that could decide where my life goes after Georgia Southern, but it also saddens me that I am going to be leaving a place that has helped to shape me into the person I am now.

I also did’nt think that by creating this resume that I would be flooded with so many memories from the past. I still remember moving into my dorm at Auburn my freshman year, I know this sounds so cliche but I REALLY do feel like it was yesterday. The thought of graduation back then was a mere idea in the back of my brain and now its almost here. YIKES!

As excited as I am about getting out of Statesboro, finding a job, a new city, a new life, I still ponder the question, “Where did all the time go?”

“Growing up is never easy. You hold on to things that were. You wonder what’s to come. But that night, I think we knew it was time to let go of what had been, and look ahead to what would be. Other days. New days. Days to come. The thing is, we didn’t have to hate each other for getting older. We just had to forgive ourselves for growing up” -The Wonder Years

Just started reading a book called Madness, it is the story of a woman who lived 22 years of her life not knowing she was Bipolar and all the struggling she went through for so long. I have’nt been able to put it down! Go here for more info about it.

I cant believe that Craigslist was being used as a solicitor for murder.

The  Craigslist Internet site was used in a murder, robbery and assult case with a BU student. The students name was Philip Markoff and he is currently being charged with killing one and robbing and tying up another.

I read this article and was amazed that a student at a university like Boston, could be soliciting women through Craiglist and killing them. Makes me think twice about using eBay or any other related buying and selling sites.

intimidationI also found this really cool picture and poem that a photobucket user put up in response to the Craigslist murders.

Just got back from a weekend in Boulder, CO visiting my brother. He goes to Colorado University and plays lacrosse there. I would have to say that Boulder is one of the most beautiful places I have visited thus far. I can only imagine how wonderful it is to attend school on this campus. Here is a link to the CU website and below is a picture I snapped from atop the football stadium. Enjoy!
